BSP meeting Trypanosomiasis & Leishmaniasis Symposium: Novel Advances in Basic and Applied Research. March 8 – 11, Granada- Spain.

Dr. Freddie Annang, a specialist in drug discovery against parasitic diseases from Fundación MEDINA, attended the BSP meeting entitled “Trypanosomiasis & Leishmaniasis Symposium: Novel Advances in Basic and Applied Research” which took place in Granada from the 8th to 11th of March, where he presented his poster entitled Antiparasitic Drug Discovery: Microbial extracts as a ready source of potent and novel antiparasitic compounds, an on-going work in collaboration with D. González-Pacanowska´s and M. Navarro´s labs both at the Instituto de Parasitología y Biomedicina López-Neyra, CSIC, Granada.

There were also two more posters presented as a joint collaboration between the Instituto de Parasitología y Biomedicina López-Neyra, CSIC and Fundación MEDINA. One was presented by C. Bosch-Navarrete (from D. González-Pacanowska´s lab) with the title: Screening microbial extracts for novel antimalarial and anti-Chagas natural compounds and the other was presented by C.Gomez-Liñan (from M. Navarro´s lab) with the title: The potential of screening microbial extracts for anti-T. brucei drug discovery.
