Exploitation of microbial biodiversity for the discovery and development of novel cosmeceutical agents.

MICROSMETICS is an Academia & Industry Consortium working together to discover novel cosmeceutical agents originating from global biodiversity using emerging and state of the art technologies in the field of biotechnology, natural products chemistry and applied microbiology.

The Project MICROSMETICS “Exploitation of microbial biodiversity for the discovery and development of novel cosmeceutical agents” is funded by the EC (2013-2017) within the frame of FP7-PEOPLE-IAPP (Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways) programme.

The academic participants are the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (coordinator) and  Fundación MEDINA, the University of Reims, Champagne-Ardenne, the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) and the industrial partners Lavipharm, Soliance, Proteos Biotech & Chemotargets.
