Uno de los principales objetivos fue trasladar al ciudadano la excelencia en la investigaci\u00f3n para el descubrimiento de nuevos medicamentos innovadores de origen microbiano que se realiza en su cuidad, el valor de los microbios como fuente de soluciones para nuestra vida cotidiana, y hacerle en la medida de lo posible participe del proceso cient\u00edfico y tecnol\u00f3gico que finalmente revierte en su futuro. Difundimos la aportaci\u00f3n de los microbios en el \u00e1rea de la salud humana y el desarrollo de diferentes familias de antibi\u00f3ticos, antitumorales o antif\u00fangicos. Los ejemplos presentes en el material did\u00e1ctico mostraron como a partir de muestras de suelo, agua o l\u00edquenes entre otros se aislaron cepas microbianas determinadas que dieron origen al desarrollo de f\u00e1rmacos novedosos. Fue acompa\u00f1ado de tres puestos que representaron las diferentes etapas del proceso de descubrimiento de nuevos medicamentos a partir de productos naturales de origen microbiano y con los cuales pudimos explicar al p\u00fablico la labor desarrollada por los grupos de investigaci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n MEDINA. En uno de los talleres, los ni\u00f1os aprendieron c\u00f3mo, a partir de muestras de suelo, hojas etc., se a\u00edslan microorganismos. En otro taller se ense\u00f1\u00f3 c\u00f3mo mediante una t\u00e9cnica sencilla (cromatograf\u00eda en capa fina) se pueden separar los diferentes compuestos que dichos microorganismos producen.
