Francisca Vicente dio una charla sobre la plataforma de screening de la Fundaci\u00f3n MEDINA y la metodolog\u00eda empleada con el equipo ECHO de Labcyte, titulada \u201cBeyond Small Molecule Screening with ECHO Liquid Handlers and Access Workstations\u201d. Estuvo explicando como la miniaturizaci\u00f3n de los ensayos de cribado de alto rendimiento usando el Echo 550 Liquid Handler (powered by acoustic droplet ejection) optimiza el uso de extractos de Productos Naturales. La distribuci\u00f3n de vol\u00famenes ultra bajos permite la miniaturizaci\u00f3n de las reacciones de ensayos y la reducci\u00f3n de los costes de cribado.<\/p>\n<p>La Dra. Carmen Ramos present\u00f3 por su parte un p\u00f3ster sobre una de las ultimas herramientas de vanguardia dise\u00f1ada en MEDINA para identificar nuevos productos naturales bioactivos a trav\u00e9s de un cribado completo y automatizado: el uso de los esferoides, o cultivos en 3D, en el proceso de selecci\u00f3n de f\u00e1rmacos antitumorales imitan m\u00e1s fielmente la fisiolog\u00eda <em>in vivo<\/em> que los cultivos cl\u00e1sicos en 2D.
