Diego Pozas Participates in Roundtable on Strategic Alliances at ibs.GRANADA’s 10th Anniversary Event
Granada, June 25, 2025
As part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Instituto de Investigación Biosanitaria de Granada (ibs.GRANADA), which took place last Tuesday, June 24, and under the motto “A decade of research and innovation in health at the service of society,” Diego Pozas participated in the roundtable discussion “Strategic Alliances to Drive Biomedical Research and Innovation in Granada: Granada Salud.”
The roundtable was moderated by Mr. Gonzalo Balbontín Casillas, Manager of Fundación Progreso y Salud, and Ms. Sarah Biel Gleeson, Manager of ibs.GRANADA and FIBAO. This forum brought together key representatives of the city’s biomedical ecosystem to jointly reflect on opportunities, challenges, and synergies that can further strengthen translational research and innovation in healthcare in Granada.
During the roundtable, Diego Pozas highlighted that Fundacion MEDINA stands out in Granada’s biomedical research and innovation ecosystem due to its unique public-private model. This model combines scientific excellence, competing for national and international competitive funding, with a strong market focus, effectively connecting with industry. Thanks to this, MEDINA attracts private investment and funds activities through licenses and research services, in addition to actively participating in national and European research projects.
Fundacion MEDINA’s participation in this roundtable underscores its commitment to promoting biomedical research and innovation in the region, as well as the importance of strategic collaborations for advancing the healthcare sector.
Fundacion MEDINA and ibs.GRANADA have forged a close and lasting collaboration, materialised in joint research projects and active participation in strategic initiatives such as “Granada Salud” to boost the local biomedical sector. Both institutions share the firm objective of strengthening research and innovation in health, leveraging their synergies to generate a significant impact on Granada’s society.
