MEDINA’s delegates and the others participants brought together some aspects of parasite biochemistry and metabolism that could enhance drug discovery. The presentations consisted of 13 talks by ESRs, 1 talks by an ER, and the four invited guests. There were guest lectures on Chemical metabolomics and druggable targets in parasite metabolism by Darren Creek (Monash University, Australia), The Malaria Host‐Pathogen Interaction Center: Metabolomics Goals & Challenges by Mary Galinski and Metabolic Profiles during Infection with Plasmodium Species by Regina Joice of (Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA) and Practical Insights from Metabolic by Mark Poolman (Oxford U).
