The kick-off meeting of MARPIPE, a H2020 ITN consortium took place also this week at MEDINA, today 15th of March. MarPipe is a consortium of 11 partners (SME and academic centers across Europe) whose main goal is the training of the next generation of marine biodiscovery scientists from isolation of new microbial strains to pre-clinical development of lead compounds, obtained through a full drug discovery process involving marine microorganisms. Fundación MEDINA will lead one of the work packages, dedicated to the development of the most interesting hits and safety studies of these compounds in cell based-assays and animal models.
