VII Annual Report 2024 on the COSCE Transparency Agreement
Granada, January 23, 2025
Fundacion MEDINA supports transparency in animal experimentation and has been adhering to the agreement promoted by the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain (COSCE) and the European Animal Research Association (EARA) since 2022.
Animal research is crucial for understanding the biological mechanisms of diseases and developing medical treatments, such as medications, antibiotics, vaccines, and surgical techniques. The well-being of animals is a priority for MEDINA, as well as complying with current legislation, promoting alternative methods, and reducing the number of animals used. Additionally, the Foundation ensures that its staff and researchers have the necessary training and adequate resources. Fundación MEDINA also actively participates in transparency initiatives, such as teaching in Official Master's programs and presenting at conferences and congresses on animal experimentation and alternative models.
